Google may venture into set-top box devices with it's " Android TV " as reported by The Verge on saturday. Android TV will join the race with rest of the set top boxes on the market, including Apple TV, Amazon’s Fire TV, and Roku. The Android TV will have a simple interface and will
include services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora and Vevo. After unsuccessful attempt to take Google TV mainstream , Google is once again ready to launch it's new product. "Android TV is an entertainment interface, not a computing platform," writes Google. "It’s all about finding and enjoying content with the least amount of friction." It will be "cinematic, fun, fluid, and fast."
Android TV will feature simple apps for a simple set top box with a easy interface. The content will be shown as covers like a movie poster and the user can use his remote with four directional controls to scroll through the contents and select the program. The interface is designed in such a way that it will not take more than three clicks to go from home screen to your favorite content.
"Android TV is Android, optimized for the living room consumption experience on a TV screen," writes the company, but the focus is on simplicity for now.
There is no information about the launch till date.
